Furnace Men

Inside the furnace roars, casting molten light. Dust motes dance in the air. An English foreman stands on a platform in the break out area, gesturing with firm conviction. The men before him are exhausted, their faces hidden by grime.

They don’t listen, they don’t understand.

The foreman speaks of double shifts and joining unions. The men resent each other, themselves.
